Health systems are spending significantly more money on AI than payers and outpatient providers are, Menlo Ventures reported.
Here is where health systems are dedicating their AI dollars, according to the venture capital firm’s Oct. 21 report, which surveyed 700-plus executives involved in AI decision-making:
1. Ambient scribes: $475 million
2 Coding and billing: $400 million
3. Patient engagement: $70 million
4 (tie). Payer engagement: $50 million
4 (tie). Prior authorization: $50 million
