Aetna and Ascension join five other leading health care companies in blockchain-driven effort to address health care provider data issues

A recent press relese by Quest Diagnostics announces a pilot launching in April 2019 under the leadership of Quest Diagnnostics, Humana, MultiPlan, Optum, and United Healthcare.

Aetna, a CVS Health business, and Ascension have joined the pilot project applying blockchain technology to improve data quality and reduce administrative costs associated with changes to health care provider demographic data. Humana, MultiPlan, Quest Diagnostics (NYSE: DGX) and UnitedHealth Group’s (NYSE: UNH) Optum and UnitedHealthcare announced the launch of the Synaptic Health Alliance pilot project in April.
