ACP: 4 ways technology can improve patient care

The American College of Physicians on May 23 released a healthcare policy agenda, calling on Congress to support a range of recommendations, including coverage expansion, research funding and increased transparency.

Among its policy recommendations, ACP noted five goals to improve patient care with technology.

1. Reduce barriers to telemedicine use

2. Enhance the functionality of EHRs

3. Improve interoperability of EHRs

4. Limit the burden of health IT regulations
