Hospitals and health systems teamed up with health IT companies, startups and telehealth organizations this week to develop new initiatives, technologies and innovative projects.

Here are 10 of the most interesting health IT partnerships, collaborations and acquisitions reported by Becker’s Hospital Review this week.

1. The Indiana Health Information Exchange, formed in 2004 and serving 13 million-plus patients, is using the Diameter Health platform for a pilot project focused on clinical data normalization and standardization.

2. Milwaukee-based Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin partnered with Grand Rounds, a provider of patient-matching solutions, to extend its remote consultation services and increase access to in-person visits.

3. Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital, the only pediatric hospital in the United Arab Emirates, formed a strategic health IT partnership with Children’s National Health System in Washington, D.C.

4. The Institute for Informatics at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis entered into a strategic partnership agreement with MDClone, an Israel-based start-up focused on big data healthcare solutions.

5. In a partnership with the International Olympic Committee, GE Healthcare developed an advanced analytics solution to be used at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang, South Korea, and the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.

9. Allscripts integrated Luma Health’s patient communication platform to its developer program, enabling Allscripts Practice Management users to tap the mobile engagement solution.

10. Boston-based Atrius Health implemented a natural language processing platform from Linguamatics Health to extract clinical information from unstructured patient data.
