The new center is modeled after the Cleveland Clinic’s comprehensive plan for obesity reduction. It focuses on nutrition, psychological needs, physical fitness, bariatric surgery and follow-up lifestyle changes.
Each patient will attend monthly appointments for the first year following his or her bariatric surgery, after which appointments will become a yearly affair.
The new center is part of the hospital’s campaign to decrease health problems commonly associated with obesity, according to the report.
