Johnson County Healthcare Center in Buffalo requested American Rescue Plan Act funding for such updates at its family medical center and inpatient wing, totalling about $1.6 million in additional money. The renovations are already under construction.
“That was the big thing is there’s a lot of projects out there,” Luke Senden, CEO, told the hospital district’s board of trustees in December. “There’s just too much money requested and not enough funds available.”
Approximately $85 million is available in Wyoming for such projects, the report said. Gov. Mark Gordon is aiming to budget for an additional $15 million on top of that in 2023 for a total of $100 million of federal funds available, including for projects that have already been tabled.
