Why Tenet is projecting strong 2023 results

A week ahead of the release of its fourth-quarter earnings, Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare said it is expecting its adjusted EBITDA for the year ended Dec. 31 will be "above the high end" of its current guidance range.

Those results were driven by, among other factors, strong surgical growth at its ASC business, United Surgical Partners International, Tenet said in a Feb. 1 news release.

"Our team continues to deliver consistently strong results, driven by Tenet’s data-driven and disciplined operating model," Tenet CEO Saum Sutaria, MD, said in the release.

Tenet will release its fourth-quarter and full-year earning results Feb. 8.

The health system's adjusted EBITDA for 2022 was $3.47 billion. Tenet said in its Oct. 30 quarterly earnings report that it increased its adjusted EBITDA outlook for 2023 to be in the range of $3.37 billion to $3.47 billion.
