What patients want most from providers

In addition to quality of care, available appointments are what patients want most from their healthcare provider, according to a survey from digital health platform Tebra released March 6.

Tebra surveyed 1,221 in November to assess their healthcare preferences, according to the report. 

Patients were asked, “Besides quality of care, what do you want most from a healthcare provider?” Here is how they responded:

 1. Available appointments when needed: 62 percent 

2. Prompt responses to questions and concerns: 55 percent 

3. A welcoming staff: 53 percent 

4. A good listener: 50 percent 

5. A short wait: 47 percent 

6. Online access to health records: 41 percent 

7. Flexible hours/late hours: 37 percent 

8. Option to book appointment online: 36 percent 

9. Option for a telehealth appointment: 23 percent 

10. Ability to pay online: 22 percent
