Springfield (Vt.) Hospital said it plans to close adult day services Sept. 30 due to unsustainable finances, according to a July 15 Facebook post.
The nonprofit critical access hospital offers inpatient and outpatient care, 24-hour emergency care and multiple special care services, according to its website.
Individuals enrolled in day services will be given information for other similar regional programs. The hospital is working with participants and their families to ensure a smooth transition.
Affected staff are also being connected with other open positions within the hospital, the post said.
“Adult day has been honored to serve our community with compassionate, person-centered care,” the post said. “We are deeply grateful to the families, caregivers, staff, volunteers and partners who made this work possible.”
