Texas Health Resources saw revenue increase 2 percent year over year to $1.15 billion in the three months ended March 31. The growth is partially attributable to increased outpatient visits.
The system’s total operating expenses also climbed year over year, from $1.08 billion to $1.11 billion.
After factoring in expenses, the system reported operating income of $42.50 million in the first three months of 2019, a slight decrease from $42.51 million reported in the same period a year prior.
Texas Health Resources ended the first three months of 2019 with net income attributable to the system of $463.3 million, compared to $19.6 million in the same period a year prior.
The growth is largely due to a $444.7 million increase in investment earnings, according to financial documents.
