Texas Children’s Hospital plans $506M patient tower

Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston is planning the construction of a $506 million patient tower.

The 19-story tower is part of a $575 million capital investment in the hospital’s main campus. It will initially include 129 beds for pediatric and cardiovascular intensive care as well as new operating rooms. It will also include the relocated Texas Children’s Heart Center and a new outpatient clinic.

FKP Architects is heading the planning and design of the new tower. The project is expected to be completed by 2018.
