The sale is a significant boost for Blount Memorial’s finances and follows an agreement between the hospital and county commission for the management of MorningView Village, according to the report. A resolution was passed earlier this year permitting the sale.
“The sale of MorningView Village really helped solidify our cash position and improved our financials,” Blount Memorial Interim CEO Jonathan Smith told the news outlet. “We feel very confident that Ocoee will be able to offer the same or better service than what Blount Memorial did.”
Ocoee Foundation owns and operates multiple assisted living, skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities across Tennessee and Wisconsin, according to its website.
Blount Memorial did not respond to Becker’s request for comment.
