Tenet’s payer mix in 2023 

Commercially insured patients were responsible for more than 70 percent of Tenet Healthcare’s patient service revenues in the first half of 2023, according to the Dallas-based health system’s second quarter earnings report published July 31.

Payer mix by net patient service revenues as of June 30:

Commercial: 70.6 percent

Medicare: 16.9 percent

Medicaid: 7.6 percent

Indemnity/other: 4.1 percent

Uninsured: 0.8 percent

Payer mix by admissions as of June 30:

Commercial: 67.1 percent

Medicare: 20.3 percent

Medicaid: 4.9 percent

Charity/uninsured: 4.4 percent

Indemnity/other: 3.3 percent
