Revenue at WakeMed in North Carolina Tops $978M in 2011

Raleigh, N.C.-based WakeMed Health & Hospitals recorded total operating revenue of $978 million in the 2011 fiscal year, an increase of 8 percent from last year, according to a WakeMed (pdf) fact sheet.

WakeMed’s total revenue over expenses, or net income, was $44.2 million in 2011 for a 4.4 percent margin.

Direct community benefits for fiscal year 2010 were also released. WakeMed provided $179.5 million in total community benefits, $67.3 million of which was charity care.
