Palo Alto, Calif.-based Stanford Health Care plans to lay off 95 employees, a spokesperson for the system said in a Sept. 1 statement shared with Becker’s.
Affected employees will remain on the payroll with benefits until Nov. 2.
The layoffs will affect employees across Stanford’s technology, digital solutions and other administrative departments, with about 80 specifically affected in its technology and digital services. The cuts are part of a regular review of the system’s operations and patient needs.
Some of the affected roles include senior manager of information technology, senior manager of data engineering, clinical informatics analyst, director of clinical applications, director of digital health tech, director of IT program and network of care, director of IT sourcing and ops, IT program manager and lead clinical informatics analyst, according to an Aug. 28 WARN notice obtained by Becker’s.
“We are providing active support for redeployment within the organization where possible and opening new roles with the opportunity for impacted employees to apply,” the spokesperson said. “These positions do not provide direct patient care, and the changes will not affect our ability to deliver high-quality care to our patients.”
