Here are four things to know.
1. The platform aims to help hospitals with price transparency, according to a news release.
2. Through the partnership, patients will be able to use the platform to see time and date of appointment, directions, parking information, specific preparation instructions, procedure details, condition information and follow up, the release states. Patients will also be able to get a cost estimate before they receive care.
3. “Pricing transparency means educating and informing patients of their financial responsibility,” Greg Kay, senior vice president of PMMC, said in the release. “By combining our patient cost estimation technology with Smart Source’s HandHolder technology, we offer the healthcare industry a truly comprehensive price transparency solution.”
4. The platform is available immediately and will be implemented to U.S. healthcare providers, particularly in states such as Florida and Ohio, where price transparency legislation is in the works, according to the release.
