Indianapolis-based IU Health has struck a revenue cycle partnership with Ensemble Health Partners.
Under the agreement, IU Health retains accountability for patient experience and overall financial outcomes, while Ensemble will be accountable for delivering its operating model and revenue cycle performance improvements, according to the release. This approach aims to improve performance and reduce structural inefficiencies over time, supporting a more sustainable long-term cost structure.
“Today’s healthcare environment is increasingly complex, particularly as patients and healthcare organizations navigate a challenging and evolving reimbursement landscape,” IU Health CFO Jenni Alvey said in the release. “Strategic partnerships like this are critical to strengthening our ability to manage that complexity while continuing to deliver strong financial stewardship.”
The partnership comes as IU Health prepares for a transition to Epic in 2027.
Ensemble’s partnership with IU Health is the RCM company’s ninth new client since January 2025. The company now works with 37 health systems across the U.S. and manages more than $55 billion in net patient revenue.
