10 revenue cycle headlines to know from April

From IKS Health striking a deal to acquire TruBridge, to a look at Prime Healthcare’s revenue cycle playbook for hospital acquisitions, here are 10 revenue cycle updates Becker’s reported in April: 

1. IKS Health signed a definitive agreement to acquire TruBridge, which provides revenue cycle management and EHR services for rural and community hospitals.

2. Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare is seeing rising denials and underpayments, but efforts to strengthen its revenue cycle are helping mitigate the effects, CFO Mike Marks said.

3. Revenue cycle has become a critical lever for health systems navigating rising costs, reimbursement pressure and increasingly aggressive payer behavior. For Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare, it is also the foundation of how the organization approaches hospital acquisitions and executing financial turnarounds.
