Reading (Pa.) Hospital and the Wyomissing School District have reached an agreement over the hospital’s community benefits and tax-exempt status, ending a dispute that has persisted since last year, according to a Reading Eagle report.

The non-profit hospital will provide $408,500 in annual health-related services to the school district — such as nursing, occupational and physical therapy, athletic training, flu shots — over the next four years.

The Wyomissing School District argued in a county court last year that several portions of Reading Hospital’s central campus should be taxable to offset decreased state funding and declining local tax revenue, according to the report. The properties in question on the hospital’s campus included for-profit medical practices.
