Households with incomes between 126 percent and 200 percent of the federal poverty level qualify to pay a discounted price for their care. Discounts are also available for individuals whose balance exceeds 25 percent of their household income as well as qualified uninsured patients.
Assistance under the new policy is not available for certain services, including elective plastic surgery and services covered by state or federal agencies, according to the report.
