Orlando (Fla.) Health is in the final stages of its demolition plan at its shuttered Rockledge (Fla.) Hospital, a spokesperson for Orlando Health said in an Oct. 13 statement shared with Becker’s.
“The city [of Rockledge] and community will determine the vision for the future use of the property,” the statement said.
Rockledge Hospital, which closed April 22, 2025, was one of three hospitals Orlando Health acquired from Dallas-based Steward Health Care for $439 million in October 2024.
Orlando Health also shared plans in April 2025 to spend more than $750 million on a new hospital, freestanding emergency departments and physician offices over the next four years. In December 2025, the system bought nearly 40 acres in Brevard County, Fla., for $29 million, with plans to replace Rockledge Hospital due to multiple structural issues at the facility.
