Here are four things to know.

1. The rates, which take effect starting next year, were set this month after the county approved “soft billing” for ambulance runs earlier this fall, according to the article.

2. Delaware County commissioners last month approved a three-year contract with billing agency PST Services, reports ThisWeek Community News. Under the contract, PST will bill a third party, such as Medicare or an insurance company, after each ambulance run, the report states. Delaware County residents will not receive bills.

3. The ambulance billing rates set by Delaware County are:

  • $685 for Basic Life Support
  • $810 for Advanced Life Support I
  • $1,175 for Advanced Life Support II

4. In addition to the billing rates, Delaware County will charge $14.50 per mile for patient transport, according to the report.
