Moody's revises UMass Memorial Health Care's outlook to positive

Moody's Investors Service has affirmed Worcester, Mass.-based UMass Memorial Health Care's "Ba1" rating and revised the system's outlook to positive from negative.

The outlook revision was based on a number of factors, including the system's better-than-budgeted operating performance in fiscal year 2014 and continued positive operations in the first half of fiscal 2015.

UMass Memorial's strengths were considered for the rating affirmation, such as its role as a large and diversified health system.

The system also faces some challenges, which were considered for the rating affirmation, including depressed liquidity.
