Rumors Emerge For Potential Henry Ford Hospital, Beaumont Health System Merger

Detroit-based Henry Ford Hospital and Beaumont Health System in Royal Oak, Mich., may be in talks for a merger or affiliation, according to a Crain’s Detroit Business report.

While neither system has confirmed the partnership talks, Henry Ford spokesman Dwight Angell said Henry Ford’s board of trustees has been discussing potential partnerships, according to the report. No specific details were revealed, but Crain’s Detroit received multiple tips citing Beaumont Health as the potential partner. Beaumont Health has been pursuing a transaction for a few months, having hired a consulting firm to develop a request for proposal, according to the report.
