Mercy Hospital Fort Smith (Ark.) is investing more than $60 million in upgrades and expansions as part of a three-phase plan to expand services and improve patient care.
Phase 1 includes enhancements to procedural services, imaging, clinics and inpatient spaces, along with upgrades to laboratory and diagnostic capabilities, and patient rooms, according to an April 7 news release.
The health system said the investments are designed to increase access to care, support growing patient demand and integrate additional physicians and caregivers.
The plan builds on recent projects, including a $186 million expansion of the emergency department and ICU that added 22 ED and 26 ICU rooms.
Future phases will focus on additional facility upgrades, clinical expansions and technology investments, Mercy said.
