The $168 million medical campus project was approved unanimously by the health system’s board, and construction is set to begin in early 2015.
Plans for the acute-care Cypress hospital include eight operating rooms, a 16-bed intensive care unit, a neonatal intensive care unit, a cardiac catheterization lab and a shelled lab.
The project also includes plans for the construction of a fully-licensed emergency center and a medical office building, which are scheduled to be completed in early 2016.
