Albuquerque, N.M.-based Lovelace Health System is laying off 43 positions — primarily administrative and support roles — a health system spokesperson confirmed to Becker’s June 11.
The cuts represent about 1.6% of the Lovelace’s local workforce, the spokesperson said. The system worked to place some employees into open roles where possible.
The layoffs come as the system faces rising costs, shifting payer dynamics and a challenging policy environment, the spokesperson said.
“These actions reflect deliberate steps to manage costs and ensure our structure keeps pace with current realities,” the spokesperson said. “We are supporting affected team members through this transition, and our focus remains on providing safe, high-quality care to our patients and community.”
Lovelace is a subsidiary of Brentwood, Tenn.-based Ardent Health.
