Portland, Ore.-based Legacy Health is back in network with Regence — a Blues carrier under Cambia Health Solutions — according to updates from both organizations.
The agreement is retroactive to April 1, when Legacy went out of network. Without a contract, commercial and Medicare Advantage members had lost access. Some Legacy facilities would have been temporarily covered for an additional year, the Legacy website said in early April. The negotiations did not focus on Silverton facilities.
The websites did not specify the duration of the new contract.
“We recognize the disruption caused by the termination and thank you for your patience throughout this process as we continue to advocate for affordable access to healthcare,” a May 6 Regence statement said.
Legacy has said its costs have increased 47% over five years.
“While [the contract] does not completely close our financial gap, it more effectively responds to the increased operating costs and reflects our shared commitment and responsibility to our patients,” Merrin Permut, Legacy’s vice president and chief population health officer, said in a May 6 letter.
