The hospital is experiencing financial hardship as it transitions operations to Topeka, Kan.-based Stormont Vail Health.

Geary Community Healthcare Foundation Executive Director Tracy Geisler said the capital infusion was made possible by foundation donors.

“Our foundation was established in 1987 to support the healthcare needs in our community. We are extremely grateful for the community support and ongoing giving that we have received by our donors. This contribution is only possible due to the generosity of so many for so long,” Ms. Geisler said.

The foundation noted that it was established to support the community’s healthcare needs and is committed to helping support the hospital.
