Intermountain Health’s Peaks Region, which includes Colorado and Montana, has transitioned five clinical shared service lines to in-house operations.
The move aligns with the Salt Lake City-based health system’s “commitment to simplify, standardize and be good stewards of our resources through efficiency and cost-effectiveness,” Sean Fadden, vice president of finance at Intermountain, wrote in a recent LinkedIn post.
In recent months, the following service lines have been brought under Intermountain’s direct management: Security, wound care, environmental services, facilities management and nutrition services.
“By bringing these services in-house, we expect to save significant overhead expenses throughout 2025. We’ve also added several talented and dedicated professionals who previously served as third-party contractors,” Mr. Fadden said. “Many of our tools, systems and processes are more unified because of the transition as well.”
