Inflation causing low-income patients to cut back on healthcare spending, report finds

A new report from Pymnts and CareCredit found that healthcare consumers making less than $50,000 engaged 8 percent less in healthcare channels than they did in November 2021.

Lower-income patients are also less likely to engage with digital health tools. Just 40 percent of patients who earn less than $50,000 use digital health tools, according to the report.

The report pointed to the inflation surge for the decrease in healthcare channels.

Findings from the report were based on a survey of 2,736 patients.
