Idaho credit union bake sale a boon for babies at St. Luke's Nampa hospital

Employees of the Idaho Central Credit Union in Nampa, Idaho, raised $700 for the new St. Luke's Nampa hospital through a bake sale, reports Idaho Business Review.

The funds will go toward the hospital's neonatal intensive care unit.

"We chose to raise money for this project by hosting a bake sale in our branch because we believed it was the best way for us to support those beautiful little babies and their families at the NICU at St. Luke's Nampa," Branch Manager Cheryl Moore told IBR. "We all know someone who has had a baby before they were due and they just need a little extra love during that time."

A new 200,000-square-foot, 87-bed St. Luke's hospital in Nampa is slated to open this fall, according to Idaho Press-Tribune. Hospital officials said seven of the mother-baby suites will allow NICU babies to stay with their families, instead of a separate NICU.
