Springfield, Ill.-based HSHS said it is working with university leadership to formulate the next steps for the clinic and the staff.
“As part of Hospital Sisters Health System’s ongoing commitment to its healthcare mission, we continuously evaluate how we deliver care to our community,” Mandi Vehlow, vice president of operations for HSHS’ physician enterprise, said. “In support of these ongoing assessments, HSHS Medical Group has determined it is necessary to end its agreement with Millikin University to provide medical management services for the walk-in clinic.”
There is no transition agreement in place at this time, but Millikin is hopeful there will be one soon. University leadership is exploring other provider options to determine if a transition can occur with no service disruption.
