CMS Seeks Comment on Proposed ICD-10 Readiness Assessment

CMS is seeking comment on a proposed ICD-10 industry readiness assessment (pdf), which will be used to understand each sector’s progress toward ICD-10 compliance.

CMS will also use the ICD-10 readiness assessment to see what communication and education can be utilized to help providers comply with ICD-10.

In April, HHS proposed to delay the ICD-10 compliance date from Oct. 1, 2013, to Oct. 1, 2014. HHS is expected to release a final rule on ICD-10 soon.
