Nonprofit hospitals rely on donations to fund everything from research to construction projects, and they are hoping to boost fundraising efforts on Giving Tuesday. Some hospitals, such as Memphis, Tenn.-based St. Jude’s Research Hospital and Chicago-based Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital, have created webpages asking for donations on Giving Tuesday.
Many hospitals set fundraising goals for Giving Tuesday. Traverse City, Mich.-based Munson Healthcare and Wellsville, N.Y.-based Jones Memorial Hospital each set a $50,000 goal. Grace Cottage Hospital in Townshend, Vt., hopes to raise $28,000 to buy new vital signs monitors.
Hospitals and health systems are also finding creative ways to promote their Giving Tuesday campaigns. Auburn (N.Y.) Community Hospital created a music video to inspire people to donate, and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles is teaming up with a local radio station to promote its fundraising campaign.
