National Library of Medicine Releases SNOMED to ICD-10-CM Map

The U.S. National Library of Medicine recently released a preview version of its SNOMED-CT to ICD-10-CM map, which will support the semi-automated production of ICD-10-CM codes from clinical data in an electronic health record.

SNOMED-CT is considered to be the most “comprehensive, multilingual clinical healthcare terminology in the world,” according to the NLM.

This preview release covers 7,277 SNOMED-CT concepts, and this June, the NLM will release a full version of the map, which will cover around 15,000 concepts.
