HCA West Florida Plans Hospital Construction Projects Totaling $136.8M+

Tampa-based HCA West Florida, a network of 16 hospitals and 12 ambulatory surgery centers, has announced expansion and renovation projects at a number of its hospitals, totaling more than $136.8 million.

The projects include:

1. Construction of a new 72-bed, 84,510-square-foot emergency department at Brandon (Fla.) Regional Hospital, as well as the addition of 30 progressive care rooms and 10 intensive care rooms.

2. A major redesign of the ER and the addition of six new treatment bays and two operating rooms at Doctors Hospital of Sarasota (Fla.).

3. Expansion of the inpatient unit the behavioral health department at Largo (Fla.) Medical Center from 47 to 71 beds.

4. Construction of the 10,600-square-foot Clearwater ER, which will be a department of Largo Medical Center, which will feature 11 exam rooms and dedicated trauma and CT scan rooms.

5. The addition of a 12-bed obstetrics unit at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, Fla.

6. Construction of new three-story bed tower at South Bay Hospital in Sun City Center, Fla.
