HCA shares hit 1-year low

Shares of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare fell to a 52-week low of $164.47 in trading on July 14, according to a report from Seeking Alpha. Shares are down 24 percent over the last year and 34 percent year to date.

In the first quarter of 2022, the company’s net income was $1.27 billion compared to $1.42 billion in the same quarter of the previous year. 

Other hospital operators and acute care facilities have also suffered, as evidenced by hefty year-to-date declines for Universal Health Services, Tenet Healthcare, and Community Health Systems.
