For-profit hospital stock report: Week of Oct. 2-6

All five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices fall last week.

Among the major for-profit hospital operators, Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems saw the greatest decrease in share price at 7.8 percent.

Here is how the five operators stacked up, as of Oct. 6.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $7.09 per share (down 7.8 percent)
  • HCA Healthcare (Nashville, Tenn.): $76.62 per share (down 3.7 percent)
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $56.50 per share (down 2.5 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare (Dallas): $15.66 per share (down 4.6 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $110.10 per share (down 0.8 percent
