For-profit hospital stock report: Week of Oct. 16-20

All five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices rise last week.

Among the major for-profit hospital operators, Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems saw the greatest increase in share price at 11.6 percent.

Here is how the five operators stacked up, as of Oct. 20.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $6.44 per share (up 11.6 percent)
  • HCA Healthcare (Nashville, Tenn.): $81.04 per share (up 8.6 percent)
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $58.30 per share (up 6.1 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare (Dallas): $14.66 per share (up 11.5 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $112.86 per share (up 7 percent)
