For-profit hospital stock report: Week of March 16-20

All five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stocks rise last week.

Shares of Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corporation of America were up 5.9 percent last week, the most of any of the major for-profit hospital operators.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $53.06 per share (up 5.66 percent)
  • Hospital Corporation of America (Nashville, Tenn.): $76.05 per share (up 5.9 percent)
  • LifePoint Hospitals (Brentwood, Tenn.): $75.61 per share (up 3.58 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare Corp. (Dallas): $49.63 per share (up 4.95 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $119.55 per share (up 4.79 percent)
