For-profit hospital stock report: Week of April 23-27

Four of the five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices fall last week.

Among the major for-profit hospital operators, Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems saw the greatest decrease in share price at 5.5 percent.

Here are how the five operators stacked up as of April 27.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $3.81 per share (down 5.5 percent)
  • HCA Healthcare (Nashville, Tenn.): $96.22 per share (down 1.3 percent)
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $48.95 per share (down 1.4 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare (Dallas): $24.31 per share (up 0.9 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $114.31 per share (down 5.2 percent)
