Fitch assigns ‘A’ rating to Stamford Hospital’s bonds

Fitch Ratings has assigned an “A” rating to Stamford (Conn.) Hospital’s $45 million of series 2016K revenue bonds.

Fitch also affirmed the “A” rating on Stamford’s $250 million of series 2012J bonds and $110 million of series 2010I bonds.

The rating assignment and affirmation are based on several factors, including Stamford’s leading market share. Stamford also faces numerous challenges, including profitability that has been lower than initially projected over the past two years.

The outlook is stable.
