The rating affirmation was based on a number of factors, including Cottage’s solid financial profile and dominant market position. The health system maintains a market position of over 80 percent in its primary service area.
Cottage also has a major capital investment that is nearing completion, which includes a rebuilding of 450-bed Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and replacement of 122-bed Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital.
