The Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System, the state’s Medicaid program, was scaled back to cut a projected $500 million. Approved measures include $4 co-payments on non-emergency medical transportation for childless adults and enrollment freezes, according to the report.
However, federal officials are separately considering and have yet to approve cuts in Medicaid reimbursement rates for hospitals and other providers, according to the report.
