CMS threatened to revoke DMC’s Medicare contract Nov. 9, after federal regulators launched an investigation into the death of a nursing home patient. During that investigation, regulators found deficiencies with the medical center’s nursing services, pharmaceutical services and governing body oversight as well as patient rights violations.
The hospital immediately reported the nursing home patient death and began a corrective action plan, which was recently accepted by CMS.
