American Academic Health System announced plans in late June to close financially-struggling Hahnemann by Sept. 6. The academic medical center has already ended emergency department services as part of the wind down process.

The station reported that Hahnemann took out loans totaling $53 million, part before and part after filing for bankruptcy.
