The new entity would be called HealthyCT and would become a consumer operated and oriented plan, or CO-OP, which is part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, the report said.
HealthyCT must file a full application with the Department of Health and Human Services by Oct. 17 to be considered a CO-OP. If completed, it would be in operation within the state’s health insurance exchange in 2014.
