The 449-bed behavioral health hospital was placed in “immediate jeopardy” status earlier this month after CMS regulators said severe staffing shortages at the facility posed serious threat to patient safety; however, federal regulators removed the hospital from immediate jeopardy status on Thursday, according to the report.
The hospital instituted mandatory overtime, four-day workweeks and no new vacation requests to rectify the staffing problems.
Although the threat of losing federal funding was lifted, the organization is in “conditional” status with CMS and has 90 days to be in substantial compliance with all federal requirements, according to the report.
