In Gov. Scott Walker’s administration’s initial proposal, roughly 65,000 people would have lost Medicaid coverage. The new proposal would save the state $36.5 million through June 2013 instead of $90.2 million in the original deal.
CMS still must approve Wisconsin’s Medicaid changes. BadgerCare still faces a projected shortfall of $128 million through June 2013 even with the state’s most recent proposal.
